Female Hormones

Female Hormones

The primary female hormones produced by the ovaries are estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.  As you age, your body naturally begins to produce less and less of the essential female hormones for reproduction and you enter what is known as “menopause”. The symptoms of menopause are myriad and include the following:

  • PMS
  • sleep disturbance
  • hair loss
  • weight gain
  • reduced libido
  • mood changes
  • irregular menstral cycles
  • cessation of cycles
  • painful sexual intercourse
  • vaginal dryness

Correcting these imbalances earlier, rather than later, can be the key to optimal health later in life.  Studies have shown that if you do not address these hormonal imbalances in a timely fashion, you are more suseptible to the onset of these conditions:

  • Breat Cancer
  • Depression
  • Osteoporosis
  • Heart Disease
  • Urinary Infections

We evaluate your hormone levels using simple blood panels which show us your hormone levels in your blood.  The practitioners at The Darling Center evaluate your levels according to what they know to be optimal levels of hormones, not just “within acceptable range” according to the labs recommendation.

Treatments

Depending upon what the lab results show, we will put you on a plan to restore your hormones to optimal levels.  This may include the following:

  • Estrogen replacement
  • Progesterone replacement
  • custom compounded creams
  • Testosterone replacement

Generally hormone replacement is an ongoing treatment plan and usually requires quarterly checkups and semi-annual hormone testing to ensure optimal levels are being achieved.
